Exploring the beauty in otherness

multi-disciplinary artist & educator

I’m a multi-disciplinary artist, creative director, and educator with over 15 years’ experience developing programmes and creative work across education, media, brand spaces, and fine art. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Visual Studies, which inform my curiosity and continued exploration into identity, consciousness, and perception.

I’ve built a career as an award-winning commercial photographer and director, working with global brands including Nike, Adidas, and Google. That experience led to years of consulting for brands and creating internal programmes to support their teams’ resilience, mindset, and personal efficacy. My superpower has always been helping people feel seen and exude their personal power and presence. I’ve done this behind the camera as well as through programme development to support self-talk, resilience, and emotional clarity that has supported hundreds of humans.

My creative practice centres on expressing the invisible dynamics that govern our sense of identity, the judgements we have of ourselves and others, and the interplay of our consciousness in a larger energetic field. My work seduces, provokes, and challenges the viewer to dive into experiences where they are asked to bring awareness to preconceived notions of identity and otherness.

As a Gay, Mixed-Black, AuDHD-having woman, I’ve made a life and career navigating rigid systems and supporting others with the internalised shame that comes with not fitting in. I believe each of us has unique gifts to share, and we can flourish in environments that empower and support our authenticity. Through continued acts of discovery, we can work to deconstruct societal and self-imposed limitations to renew empowering understandings of who we are and who we wish to become.

Client notes

Graciously shared

— Andrea R.

"I was wonderstruck, honestly,  her insights it was magical. What I wasn't expecting at all was how her very presence, the countenance, would be a teaching and learning guide. How she conducted herself with the divine was steady and thoughtful, but also light and playful. The messages that came through were powerful but so is she, and I learned a lot just observing her."

— Yoli N.

"Gia taught with clarity and care, blending knowledge with lived wisdom. Her energy was grounding yet uplifting, and her teaching style invited participation, reflection, and creativity. I had so much fun! It felt both empowering and restorative to learn with her."

— Sue Dixon, Executive Director, Portland Opera

"Gia is the next Annie Leibovitz. Her work is undeniably gorgeous, poigniant, and inspiring."

— Misty Tompoles, founder of artslandia

"She's not just a photographer, she's a visionary."
